Seeing lives transformed through encounter with Jesus
Uplift is a congregation of 'The Six'. What is different about UPlift is the provision for families, children and young people. We try to ensure the service is engaging for children and we also offer children's groups ('Sunday School') during part of the service to enable all ages to explore faith in a way that is appropriate.
The adults are offered a space where they can take time to be still, worship and pray as well as hearing a talk. The children's groups are a place to make friends and have fun as well as learning about Jesus and learning to pray and worship together.
We meet in Upchurch Village Hall, which offers separate rooms for the children's groups as well as a flexible worship space. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in the month at 10.30am (when there is not a benefice servce). You can find the date of our next service and our other events here.
You can sign up to receive an email before each service. To join our mailing list click here.
Our worship is a mix of lively and reflective contemporary songs led by a band. We have a children's story/interactive talk before the children go out to their groups.
We currently have one children's group for ages up to 11. On the 1st Sunday in the month we also have a group for 11-16 year olds. On the 3rd Sunday in the month, we have an activity table for 11-16s and a group aimed at older teenagers but open to adults of all ages as well. This group meets over real coffee and pastries, while enjoying time to discuss and ask questions about the Bible passage for the day.
On a few occasions each year, all ages stay together for the whole service when we look for creative ways in which young and old can take part in our worship together. These services usually happen at Easter, Fathers' Day, Advent and Christmas.
We hold other events as well as services. Look at Coming up for latest dates & events. These are open to anyone, not just those who attend on Sundays.
