Seeing lives transformed through encounter with Jesus

Lower Halstow

St Margaret of Antioch is a much loved and well used 11th century village church, full of history, situated on the banks of the river Medway.

A history of the village and church are available in the church. Our ancient font has been in use for over 800 years, and still in regular use today. Some wall paintings and other item of historical significance.

We are a friendly worship community, who like to make our visitors very welcome as they come to share with us in the intimacy of this ancient place of worship. We offer a range of different services, ranging from a more, reflective traditional Book of Common Prayer Communion to informal family-oriented suitable for all ages with activities for children. In particular our monthly 'Family Time' Service (on the 4th Sunday each month) is designed for those starting to explore what the Christian faith is all about in a relaxed setting. Whether you are a regular in church or not, we extend a warm welcome to you.

Our normal pattern of monthly services:

1st Sunday             8.00am   Communion (BCP Spoken)

2nd Sunday           10.00am   Morning Worship

3rd Sunday
        10.00am   Communion (informal)
                                6.30pm   Evensong

Regular Events
'FAMILY TIME' is an informal service for all ages. We start with refreshments from 10.00 am, giving time to  meet and chat, before the service starts c10.15am. We aim to  finish c11.00am, so people are free to get on with the day or stay for further refreshments. We combine traditional hymns with contemporary songs as we think about how the Christian faith relates to daily life through story and discussion involving old and young alike. Do you wonder what God is all about? Do you wonder what life is all about? 'Come and see'. We look forward to welcoming you.
