Walking

Too often worship has been thought of as being stuck in a pew listening to a sermon or watching a ceremony. Fortunately our worship has become more active than it used to be in years past. Walking can be, and is, part of our worship -  praising God for the wonder and worth of his creation, rejoicing in the communion of sharing a journey together. So much of the New Testament takes place on the move, Jesus and the disciples out in the open "dealing with things " - whether it was the sight of a lily in a field, or the quarrel about who was the greatest among them.
Walking also prompts poetry; there is a wonderful collection of the poetry of walking here

Each of our churches is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of this part of Kent. Many of us love to walk in God's creation, enjoying the surroundings and good company. We run regular guided walks on local footpaths, which are open to everyone. The walks normally take place on the 4th Sunday of each month and vary in length and difficulty, with some suitable for families and children, and others designed for those with energy to spare. If you would like to know when the next walk will take place, please contact Ralph Liddell.
