Would you like a relaxing Sunday lunch, with craft activities, toys and games for the kids, good quality, home-cooked food and the Sunday papers - all for a couple of quid?
We all have busy lives, so the six churches of Newington, Hartlip, Stockbury, Upchurch, Lower Halstow and Iwade are working together to run a monthly Community Cafe where you can have a break, meet other local people and enjoy a few hours off.
It is called The Well, and takes place on the second Sunday of every month in Newington Village Hall. Everyone is welcome, there's no need to book and you can come and go as you want. Just turn up and enjoy letting someone else do the work. It costs £2.50 per person, which includes a 2 course meal and coffee or tea to follow with lunch bags for the kids. And if you don't want to eat, but just fancy coffee and cake, it's all free.
There's loads to do for kids of all ages - craft activities, toys, books and games, as well as a Play Station for older ones and teenagers so Mum and Dad can enjoy a few moments peace and quiet, as well as the Sunday 'papers, loads of information about stuff that's happening locally and the opportunity to swap news and items you no longer need.
You don't need to book - just turn up.
At The Well on February 11 we will be running a Book and DVD Swap - bring something you've watched or read don't want any more and swap it for a book or film you would like to take away.
