Ladies & Gents breakfast
For 10 years, the local churches have organised the Ladies & Gents breakfast as a way of offering inspiring and challenging speakers, who cover a range of topical subjects, to local people.
Guest Speakers come from Christian Charities and Organizations to talk about their work. Recent speakers include:
- Father Keerthi , from Sri Lanka, who was visiting Kent churches to raise funds after the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004. He gave us a first hand account of the tragedy
- Helena, a Czechoslovakian, who spoke about life as a secret Christian under communism
- Ann Widdecombe MP, who spoke about how her beliefs influence her politics
- Kamala Chiranjeevi, a Christian living in India, who is risking her life to spread the gospel.
We have welcomed over 60 speakers so far, all of whom have touched our hearts.
The breakfast takes place in Upchurch Golf Club, usually on the 3rd Saturdays of January, March, May, July, September and November, and includes a full English or Continental breakfast. We start at 8:30am and everyone is welcome to join us.
